Wild Service ecologist obtains Natural England dormouse survey licence

We are delighted that our Senior Ecologist Laura Murray has recently been granted a Natural England dormouse survey licence, allowing her to lead surveys for the European Protected Species hazel dormouse Muscardinus avellanarius. Dormouse habitats include deciduous, mixed and coniferous woodland and hedgerows.  Dormice are found in England and Wales and are more common in southern counties.  If suitable habitat is found during initial site assessments then presence/likely absence surveys may be required. Tewksbury Nature Reserve Bridge

We are delighted to announce that the new footbridge constructed and installed by Wild Service at Tewksbury Nature Reserve is now open. The bridge was opened in July by the Mayor of Tewksbury, and a large crowd enjoyed the ceremony as two local schoolchildren cut the ribbon on the bridge. A new Ecologist has joined the Ecology team

We welcome Olatz Gartzia to our ecologist team at Wild Services.  After working as a professional ecological consultant for over three years, Olatz went on to conduct a research project evaluating bat species richness in the rainforests of Belize.  While working there she provided recommendations on bat conservation, habitat management and monitoring techniques to local NGOs and the Environmental Research Institute of the University of Belize.  She also assisted designing the national bat monitoring protocol.
